The Edmonton Public Library is looking for a fun, fresh, innovative and creative addition to our marketing and communications team in a 12 month temporary position. We are a small team with a big mandate and are looking for someone with passion, motivation and a desire to help spread the words about all the great programs and services available at our amazing library.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Fund Development you support the execution of EPL's digital marketing communications plan and tactics. Specific initiatives include producing videos of customer testimonials, branch tours, promotional videos and photographing day-to-day life at EPL for our digital and print marketing publications as well as to support internal training and knowledge sharing.

Main responsibilities: Gathering, editing and producing videos using material gathered from EPL events, programs, courses, and meetings to help with EPL marketing or training initiatives Assist in the development and creation of video promotions for EPL programs, events and marketing campaigns including Books2Eat and EPL Squared Posting video and photographic content to the EPL website, intranet and social media channels, including YouTube Taking photographs for use online and in EPL publications Supporting the development of content for social media releases Travelling across Edmonton to any of our 17 branches to collect material, as necessary Managing the efficient use of EPL's digital content, including cataloguing, sorting, and making content available in required formats and sizes

Qualifications: Related post secondary diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. A minimum of 1 year directly related experience. Experience with non-linear editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere is required. Experience with Microsoft Office and social software applications. Experience with advanced computer programs like Adobe Photoshop, Flash and After-Effects is an asset. Experience in working in a Drupal Environment an asset.

What do you need to bring to this position? Specialized knowledge of video editing and production, including camera operation, lighting for video and audio recording. Knowledgeable in basic photographic principles. Self directed with the ability to take initiative. Strong organizational and time management skills. Customer service orientation with great verbal and written communication. Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and work. Demonstrated ability to excel in a team-oriented environment. Access to a vehicle. Flexibility to work a variable schedule with some evenings and weekends.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week.
Pay Band: $23.34 - $29.79 per hour*
*Approximately $42,600 - 54,400 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
