Digital Content Creation Entrepreneurs Network (DC2EN) Incubation Program, A partnership between Alberta Advanced Education and Technology, Banff New Media Institute, and Digital Alberta.
Digital Content Creation Entrepreneurs Network presented in collaboration with: TELEFILM CANADA (www.telefilm.gc.ca).
This is an opportunity not to be missed. Project teams will receive training, business development advice, high-level networking opportunities and significant access to distinguished mentors and facilities. Qualified companies will receive 100% sponsorship for participation in this program valued at approximately $50,000.00 CDN.
The DC2EN Incubation Program is unlike any other Incubation project in the province. It is a unique pilot program designed specifically to benefit Alberta digital media producers by facilitating the development of a project with a focus on intellectual property creation from the earliest stages, allowing for unparalleled access to world-class digital media/creative industry mentors, in-person incubation sessions and the time to develop the project at your home base location. The DC2EN program is focused on growing the digital media industry across Alberta and provides constant support to qualifying companies throughout the full incubation process.
Mentor Compensation
Program Mentors will not only have an opportunity to collaborate towards a DC2EN project's success from the initial stages of development, but they will also be able to meet and, potentially, work very closely with other respected DC2EN Program Mentors. They will also be facilitating the development of Alberta's most creative digital media producers.
In addition to full coverage of regional travel, accommodation and meal expenses at The Banff Centre, Program Mentors will receive a fee of $10,000.00 CDN for their consultation and instructional services during the course of the DC2EN Incubation Program.
Program Mentor fees will be distributed as follows:
- 50% Project Initiation Fee
- 25% at completion of Design Residency
- 25% at completion of Incubation Program
Program Delivery
The DC2EN is delivered through The Banff New Media Institute Accelerator Program in partnership with Digital Alberta and will be used to build on the expertise and competitive advantages in the global digital media industry. The DC2EN is coordinated out of Banff, Alberta with a focus on the majority of incubation activity happening in selected incubation facilities from across the province wherever the selected companies originate from. Banff New Media Institute will support focused incubation residencies at The Banff Centre for intensive development periods of each team and provide administrative/coordination support during the times when companies are working out of their home bases.
