Edmonton-based Rocketfuel Productions recently took the top prize at the "Pitch It!" competition at the eighth annual Kidscreen Summit in New York City for their cross media entertainment property for kids, "C.I.E." (Central Institute for Exploration). The summit was held from February 7-9.
Four international producers were pre-selected to compete at the summit's final event, "Pitch It!". They would have only six minutes to present the property to an international panel of senior executives from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, YTV Corus Entertainment, KI.KA, and Disney, and, in front of over 1,300 executives from the children's entertainment world attending the summit.
CEO & Executive Producer Ken Bautista was up to the task, impressing the panel with an energetic presentation that included audio, video, and even judge interaction. As a result, Rocketfuel won both categories for quality of pitch and most viable property for kids aged 6-11 at the summit. Rocketfuel is a joint venture between Edmonton-based Hotrocket and Redengine.
