Senior Web Developer

RED is presently looking for a Senior Web Developer to work in our Edmonton office. The role involves executing technical solutions across multiple environments, estimating and planning for all interactive jobs, contributing to the testing and feasibility of innovative uses of technology, assisting in the evolution of technology standards and processes.

Position Responsibilities

• Evaluation of technical solutions for RED’s clients
• Support the strategy, creative, and user experience teams in determining the feasibility of proposed solutions
• Support the digital project management team in estimation of time and budget for all interactive work
• Standardize development practices and methodologies
• Define and produce technical solutions that align with the business objectives of RED’s clients
• Work in a fast paced dynamic team environment
• Communicate effectively across disciplines
• Assist with project estimations and interactive workplans
• Stay current with emerging and evolving technologies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of OO programming, the DOM, UI development, Server Side Programing, Database Development, Web Services, Content Management Systems, SDLC, and Agile workflows.

Further skills outlined below will be encountered while employed with RED.

• 5+ years of experience in interactive / web development environments
• Excellence with web standards
• Implementation and use of JavaScript frameworks
• Expert PHP and MySQL
• Customization and development with content management systems
• Facebook SDK
• Working knowledge of C#.Net and MS SQL
• Understanding of Flash AS3 development
• Experience working with REST, SOAP interfaces
• Data Modeling and transformation with XML and XSLT
