Digital Media Connects Us: How Social Media is Enabling Business, Relationships, Entertainment and Play
Dates: May 1 - May 4, 2008
Location: Banff, Alberta, Canada
Social media describes the online technologies and practices that people use to share content, opinions, insights, experiences, perspectives, and media themselves. Held at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, this two-day workshop features speakers from leading companies that are harnessing social networks to change the way we do business, buy products, develop software, consume music/video, and play games. Through case studies and group activities, participants will go behind-the-scenes on each company and product, from conceptual development to market implementation, and hear about the successes and challenges each company has experienced. This event is presented by Digital Alberta, supported in partnership by the Banff New Media Institute Accelerator Program and Alberta Advanced Education & Technology.
